Accepting Perinatal Mental Health Referrals in Los Angeles & Across California

Ana Velouise (she), LMFT, PMH-C

Thank you for your interest in referring to Well Parent Therapy! My practice is dedicated exclusively to perinatal and reproductive mental health.

I work with individuals and couples navigating the emotional challenges that can arise during trying to conceive and fertility treatments, pregnancy loss, birth, and the postpartum period. My practice focuses on helping clients process complex reproductive experiences and develop practical tools for coping during this season of life.

My services include:

Areas of Specialization & Common Referral Reasons

As a Perinatal Mental Health Certified clinician (PMH-C), my work focuses specifically on the psychological impact of reproductive and early parenting experiences.

My approach integrates trauma-informed therapy with practical coping strategies to help clients stabilize emotionally while processing difficult experiences. I have additional training in EMDR therapy for trauma and fertility counseling for those pursuing assisted reproductive technologies.

Referrals are welcome even when patients are not experiencing severe symptoms but may benefit from additional emotional support during the perinatal period.

Providers often refer individuals and couples who:

  • Are navigating infertility, assisted reproduction, or a prolonged period of trying to conceive

  • Have experienced pregnancy loss, TFMR, or recurrent miscarriage

  • Are feeling anxiety during a pregnancy after loss

  • Are struggling after a traumatic birth experience

  • Experienced complications during delivery or a NICU stay

  • Are experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression

  • Are feeling overwhelmed by the emotional transition to parenthood

  • Are experiencing relationship strain during the parenthood adjustment

  • Would benefit from trauma-informed therapy during the perinatal period

  • Patients may benefit from perinatal mental health support when they are experiencing:

    • persistent anxiety during pregnancy

    • emotional distress following miscarriage or pregnancy loss

    • difficulty coping with infertility or fertility treatment

    • emotional overwhelm after a complicated delivery or NICU stay

    • postpartum anxiety, depression, or difficulty adjusting to parenthood

Early intervention can often prevent symptoms from becoming more severe and help patients feel more supported during this transition.

  • I frequently receive referrals from fertility clinics and reproductive endocrinologists for patients navigating the emotional impact of fertility treatment. Therapy can support individuals and couples coping with IVF cycles, difficult medical decisions, treatment setbacks, and the uncertainty that often accompanies infertility. I also offer intended parent consultations for third-party reproduction.

If you regularly work with patients navigating infertility or fertility treatment, I welcome the opportunity to serve as a mental health referral resource for your practice.

  • I value collaborative care to improve treatment outcomes and welcome communication with referring providers when appropriate and with client consent. I welcome ongoing referral relationships with perinatal care providers who are looking for a trusted mental health resource for their patients.

With a signed ROI, I am happy to:

    • communicate about treatment progress

    • collaborate with prescribers regarding medication support

    • provide recommendations for additional perinatal resources
