Yes, in-person therapy is available at the Pasadena office. Telehealth and hybrid options are also available and can be discussed during a free consultation call.

How does online therapy work?

You will receive a link to your therapy session via email and text 24 hours prior to your appointment. Sessions take place through HIPAA-compliant video software called Doxy.me. No additional software download is required. You can join from anywhere in California with privacy and a quiet environment.

Can I bring my baby with me to sessions?

Yes, children under the age of 1 are always welcome during session, in-person or virtual, and you may attend to their needs as they arise. Childcare barriers will never prevent you from getting the support you need.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your first session is a chance to get to know each other and begin building the foundation for your work together. You'll review intake paperwork, talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and start identifying your most important goals.

Individual sessions are $240 for 50 minutes. Couples and dyad sessions are $280 for 60 minutes. 75 and 90 minute sessions are available for couples, dyads, EMDR therapy, and families. Current availability is Monday through Thursday during business hours, with limited evening times on Monday and Tuesday.

Do you take insurance?

Well Parent Therapy is a private pay, out-of-network provider. While insurance is not accepted directly, a partnership with Mentaya helps clients use out-of-network benefits to offset costs. A monthly superbill is provided for clients to submit to their insurance for possible reimbursement.

What are the benefits of private pay therapy?

Private pay allows therapy to be more personalized without insurance company restrictions. It supports a smaller caseload with more attention and flexibility per client, avoids waitlists and prior authorizations, and allows for specialized perinatal mental health care that many insurance-based providers may not offer.

How does payment work?

A credit card authorization form is completed with intake paperwork. Credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. Your card is automatically charged on the day of your session.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel at least 48 hours in advance. If a reschedule to another day in the same week is not possible, the full session rate will be charged.

Inconsistent or infrequent attendance during the active treatment phase may limit what we are able to accomplish together.

Once your treatment goals have been met and you are able to sustain your progress between sessions, we can discuss transitioning to a biweekly or monthly maintenance schedule.

No, I do not use AI in your therapy treatment or my EHR, such as to record therapy sessions or write progress notes. Your most personal thoughts and struggles stay between us since I don't use AI tools that could expose your private information to third-party systems or data breaches. I strongly believe that therapy works because of the genuine human connection between a therapist and client, which is something no algorithm can replace.
